Sweet Salvation

Art is a necessary component of life. Day to day living can quite frankly get boring. We need art to get our creativity out and often to escape the realities of our surroundings (or ourselves). Because of this I was super happy last week when I finally got to see Salvation Mountain in person. Although this art piece was created as an expression of religious beliefs I still found it undoubtedly interesting to look at even as an atheist.

There's nothing quite like huge mounds of color that appear almost like play-dough designs of a giant in the middle of nowhere, Throw in a few rural cats and pounding heat, and you might get a bit of the right feeling.
