Green pants are the best pants, especially when they're vintage and very rare (I'm of course hoping you're also green with envy at this point). Since I'm corny and have no self control I took this chance to also put on as much of my green clothing as possible. Creating a fit that screams trendy grandma. Sweater, check. Comfortable shoes, check.

Lets make "so grandma" the new "dad".

Lets hit the roof.

A$AP Ferg might have his fit down to his Tommy boxers but I'm just gonna put it out there that Hilfiger jeans are a bit of a step up from underwear (slight shade). I found these vintage beauties at the Melrose Trading Post last weekend and I'm quite infatuated with my purchase, because nothing says spending your fashion school graduation money wisely like buying old jeans.

In addition to the blues, I finally got to wear my new Water White tee out (in the heat) and felt very cool. If you don't know already, the tee is designed by NY rapper Justin Rose who I interviewed a while back). Best get on that wave quick.

Camo + lingerie + mesh= city surplus

Lingerie is one of my favorite apparel categories. Sure there's really not a real reason to wear fancy underwear, but then again, why not wear fancy underwear? Although you may argue no one can really see it on the regular, you can counteract that thought by layering your lingerie pieces into your daily outfits. I paired this lace up bodysuit from Victoria's Secret with a distressed tank and basketball shorts for mix of feminine and masculine. So go ahead splurge on that black lace (but ps. this bodysuit was actually on sale for 40% off ).

A$AP Rocky + Sky Ferreira: babe central, so when I have them on the same shirt it means I'm happy.

Not quite sure what this look I wore yesterday was going for, a choker and Vans, plus a zip up pencil skirt is pretty random, but hey I think it works? Loitering in a parking lot is also essential to get the right background for a picture (especially in busy downtown LA).

On another note, I've been very much into pastel colors lately, especially in a street style sense (I mean don't you love these pink sneakers?). Theres just something about not being so serious in just black and white thats refreshing in a sense. For example:

I dyed my hair pink because I'm great at rash decisions.

I also dyed my hair pink because its my favorite color and I'm trying to add more vibrancy to my life. Why take things so seriously? Wear miss matched socks and blast your music loud. It's ok if you do things for yourself.

Ps. My friend The Glass Camera  took these photos and we got kicked out of the parking garage. Youth at its finest.

Baby why so cold?

Fall in Los Angeles.

As the sun withdraws to a lukewarm 70 degrees, the vibe of the city is a little off. Without the sweltering heat and continuous sunshine the City of Angels seems almost normal? Maybe even a little darker.

Frequent Fly, Never Trip

Rooftops are where I feel most comfortable. Being able to look at all the drama of the city from above makes me somehow feel at ease. Gorgeous views of skyscrapers and busy streets aren't so bad either! These shots are from one of these rooftop excursions a little while ago, this time on the bustling Broadway near the epicenter of downtown.

As for the clothing of choice there's something about this psychedelic print sweater that just feels right. Its a little bit crazy and out there but in the best way possible (not to mention the comfiest fabric ever). Paired with my uber cheap thrift shop pleated skirt and collar I think it turned out pretty cool. So don't trip, its just fashion.

Colors are a powerful thing. In the midst of the concrete jungle of downtown Los Angeles lays a little haven of relaxation. Bold yellow and purple buildings mix with radiant pink flowers to create an unexpected oasis. A definite breath of fresh air in a smoggy world.

Personalized jackets are better than personal issues.

Added a little something to this 5 dollar, denim jacket I bought at Goodwill with a bit of fabric, sewing materials, and a few extra evening hours. Baby Blue because even when the California sun is beaming down you can get the blues (and of course there's that one amazing song).

Just Peachy

I've always been a fan of the color pink, with its capability to be both equally feminine and powerful, I've just never really incorporated it into my daily wardrobe. But with this ribbed halter top from Topshop its easy to create a casual look with a bit of a lighter color; just add black.

Easy as...

One piece: H&M, Pants: Forever 21, Sunglasses: Urban Outfitters

No smoking, except when its in leotard form with open sides. Paired this cool, printed one piece from H&M today with black and white sweatpants for an easy, streamlined look that still has some visual interest. Nothing crazy but still fairly put together for a Monday afternoon (especially considering I spent the majority of the day doing homework). I'm also generally excited to see how this week ends up (and the next few weeks in general) as I had quite the exciting last few days. I  ended up shooting for someone I look up to in the fashion industry after going to a casting on Fairfax on Monday and a fitting in the valley on Wednesday (hint hint if you follow this person you might know who I'm talking about), and also shot a possible cover for FIDM's Mode magazine on Sunday. So stay tuned to see those shots in the future and don't forget to contact me if you want to collaborate on a project or an idea!

Black Noise

I could fill this post up with writing of my so called inspiration for this look. But really its quite simple; black is easy. Choose a color scheme and its effortless to create a bold look that appears like you spent a considerable time putting it together, when in reality you just grabbed a random assortment from your closet. Though of course it helps when your best friend does amazing makeup and you can also borrow her jewelry (isn't this choker sassy?). But nonetheless, all black is easy, effortless, and can maybe be one part of your life that isn't complicated.

Ripped knees & t-shirts are the uniform of youth for the weekend. It's even better if the t-shirt has a bluntly stated Urban Dictionary vibe to it courtesy of some very cool Los Angeles designers (who you might have even seen in my last post getting tattooed).

Hey, its not bad to be young, and young at heart is even better.

Some Days

A cashier at Target recognized Schoolboy owns this hat, small world.

You know this is my favorite necklace...

New addition to the apartment, a project I did for my Color & Design Theory class
Layers.

Knee rips might be the new distressed.
Don't take me too seriously.

Some days are for bright, happy colors, some days are for dark clothes that might bluntly state, "Ok, I go to fashion school." But regardless of the palette, I like to mix up my looks to create my personal style. There are times when I feel like dressing a little more feminine in a shorter dress and heels, and others when there's nothing I'd rather do than cover my body in black leather and quickly walk down the street blasting Travis Scott.

The first look was just something I put together on a normal school day about a week ago (though a little brighter than usual for my painting class), but the look above is what I wore yesterday to go see the Los Angeles Collections runway shows for LA Fashion Week. Since I intern for Style Smith who organized the event, I got the lucky chance to get a glimpse of what some new designers are putting out to the world (a much better post class activity than usual). Because I managed to get some pictures and video I will be putting together a little review of tidbits of the two days that you should be on the look out for in the near future! I also have some creative ideas brewing in my head that I'll be working on during my upcoming spring break and will certainly post more to let you a little more into my head.

Bright Light

Even though I tried, I could not escape the constant talk of Valentine's Day (or the floral arrangements on every street corner in this city). So to be at least somewhat festive/sociable for this "holiday" I decided to bring out my furry and (very) pink purse. Bam. A touch of color added to my all white Saturday afternoon outfit. Simple but still with a hint of fun.

My good friend (and puppy owner) Caroline decided to take another route completely and rock a very badass, black look for the day; watch out boys...

PS. If you see a group of girls talking loudly at Roscoes tonight it might be us.

Black Sunday

Two chainz.

When Rihanna wears something you know you're on the right track.

Last night I got the opportunity to volunteer at one of the post Grammy parties in this city (can't specific which one) and as one of my all time style inspirations walked past me twice, I couldn't help but notice her confident walk and powerful all black suit. Of course I was wearing a similar "business professional" look because of dress code protocol, but the fact that I almost matched with one of my favorites wasn't a bad feeling. Though I'm sure my Zara clearance section picks were a whole lot less expensive than her designer pieces.

Also, since I do live in LA I happen to know quite a large amount of talented and creative individuals, and so I had one of my friends do my makeup for the night and would certainly recommend her to anyone that wants their face flawless for whatever event or occasion.

The baby in action

Here's to dreaming that next year I'll get to go to the Grammy's.
